ARCH ENEMY Frontwoman: 'We Are In Heavy Metal Heaven'

September 14, 2006

ARCH ENEMY frontwoman Angela Gossow has issued the following update:

"Yeah, so we made it one week into Gigantour and things are finally going smoothly with set-changes, playing tight and finding the right places for working out.

"Yesterday we hit Las Vegas. It felt weird walking through all these hollowed eyed zombies at the slot machines and right into a metal show. Quite the opposite vibes. It was our first show we actually played well. And the crowd was great too. Loved to play a smaller venue, it kinda feels more metal.

"This tour is great. I hear plenty of solos, eight-minute songs, screaming, the occasional Rob Halford wail (Stu from INTO ETERNITY got that one down pretty well) and all-time thrash metal classics. 'Holy Wars'! The absence of hardcore-shouting-breakdowns is very refreshing. In fact, I could do without get in the moshpit and get fucked up for the rest of my life.

"Dave Mustaine [MEGADETH] carried our passed-out Fredrik [ARCH ENEMY guitarist] onto the tour bus after the Margarita party in San Bernardino. At 3 am in the morning. The other day, he asked me if we need anything, if we are happy, if there is anything he could do for us. Holy shit! We are having a backstage room with shower everyday. We get catering everyday. No stage manager has screamed at us yet for running over 20 seconds. Everybody is nice and treats us well. WHAT ELSE COULD WE NEED???

"We are in heavy metal heaven."

ARCH ENEMY's double disc DVD set, "Live Apocalypse", was released last month. An e-card is available that features two videos taken from the DVD for the tracks "Ravenous" and "My Apocalypse", along with a new photo gallery. You can view the e-card by clicking here.
